Bonjour,
Just a reminder that there won't be a post after today for probably a week or so. When I get back from my eye surgery we will do the hockey draft and complete the Sciences Humaines project (although you will probably have almost completed the good copy of your portion at that point---next week).
Devoirs:
Français Langue: You have to write a short discourse on your favourite animal either individually or with a partner. You will present your discourse in front of the class on Thursday or Friday of this week. It should be about two minutes long. (Ideas for details to include: species name, colour/size/food, habitat (type of environment it lives in), where in the world is the animal's habitat found, can your favourite animal be wild or domestic? What are the differences between the two (e.g. dogs), what makes this animal special to you, are there different types? (e.g. snow leapard, leapard etc))
A bientôt,
Mme Couture

Bonjour,
Just a reminder to bring PE strip on Monday.
Sciences Humaines: continue to research event/topic for Ancient Civilizations timeline. The rough draft is not due until the end of next week. At this point, you can still be in the process of gathering information. Please use some of the french books from the library as sources (great place to find specific and accurate vocabulary).
Maths: Review rules for divisibility of numbers especially if you did not feel you achieved what you wanted to on the quiz. There may be an opportunity to re-take the quiz next week.
*Remember the difference between "chiffre" (digit like the 5 (which is actually 50 as it is in the tens column) and the 3 in 53) and nombre (number like what the 5 and the 3 make "53").
Français Langue: On Wed. of next week there is a dictée on the Petit Prince. Please be prepared (read, write and re-write it etc.)
Reminder: Forms for pizza and subway need to be submitted to the office asap.
Bonne fin de semaine!
Mme Couture

Bonjour,
I just wanted to say how pleased I was to see so many students complete the science lab and submit it on time!
For those who did not finish it, please ensure that you are checking the blog to verify what needs to be completed and when assignments are due. This will reduce stress and anxiety especially as it comes time to review for quizzes and tests.
Devoirs:
Maths: Please complete both math questions if you did not complete them in class. I am most interested in knowing how you arrived at your answer. (e.g. If you say that the number 515 is divisible by 5 please include that you know that because all numbers ending in a 5 or a 0 are divisible by 5)
Science: a few students have still not completed their lab report (mostly it is the diagram showing each brands average bubble size that is not completed)
Français langue: Find all the verbs in the designated paragraph of the french text you've received from Mme Chan and complete the verb "tableau" (include verb, tense etc.)
Reminder: Photo Day tomorrow! Remember to bring in your order form!!!
Parent Homework: Please submit assignment from the first week of school (in a million words or less, tell me about your child). I have very much enjoyed reading the ones I have received so far! I find it very helpful to learn more about each students strengths and needs so that I can do my very best to help each student be successful.
Actualités: A reminder that tomorrow, Ryan, Georgia and Sydney are to present a current event during tomorrow's discussion (please note that I have posted several links to websites for francophone newspapers on the blog).
Bonne soirée,
Mme Couture
